The Renegades continue their 2008 season preparations with controlled scrimmage with The Oxford Saints on Sunday 16th March at Oxford.
With new offensive and defensive packages for 2008, this scrimmage will be a good opportunity for the Renegade's Coaching Staff to evaluate the new players who have joined the team, following a successful Rookie Day in December, as well as the current Renegades squad.
This Sunday sees the Renegades practice with one of the most exciting and toughest team in the BAFL.
Reading will travel to Farnham to learn from the very best players in Britain when they join the practice field with the Farnham "Fast Lane" Knights.
It is hoped that the experience will be greatly invalueable to the Renegades as they attempt to storm BAFL Two this 2008 season; under the new leadership of their Head Coach, Phil DeMonte.
Directions to the Farnham "Fast Lane" Knights practice facility can be found here. Practice begins 12pm until 3pm.
We'd like to also thank the Farnham "Fast Lane" Knights for this opportunity to practice with them and we look forward to a very productive day this coming Sunday.
Please note that a committee meeting will take place of chalkboard this week; also it has been moved to Wednesday evening 7:30-8:30 instead of Tuesday evening.
This Sunday, in Phoenix Arizona, two teams will be battling for the ultimate prize in American Football.
Led by Tom Brady, the New England Patriots have swept everything before them and go into this game attempting to complete the perfect season. The New York Giants stand in their way and G-Men have been on fire since a thrilling 38-35 loss to the Patriots in the final week of the regular season. Both teams boast explosive offences and this game promises to be high scoring and packed full of big plays and big hits. Will Eli Manning emulate his brother’s success in last year’s final or will the Patriots complete one of the greatest feats in sport and be crowned the undefeated Champions?
The Reading Renegades are proud to announce that we will be hosting a Super Bowl party at the Walkabout Inn in Reading town centre on Sunday, 3rd February 2008. As well as the big game on the Walkabout’s giant screen, there will be special drinks offers, a raffle, a predict the score competition, a late bar (until the end of the game) and a Madden competition.
The party starts at 9pm, with the game itself kicking off just after 11pm. Tickets are £5.00 each, and can be booked in advance (call Chef on 07793 810 758 or Oliver on 07808 770 852), or bought on the door. Be warned though – numbers are limited, so book early to avoid missing out.
The Super Bowl is the greatest spectacle in American Sports and this is not a night or a game to miss.
