Preparation for our 2010 Season Starts this Sunday 10th January at Palmer Park, Reading. Please arrive in plenty of time to be on the field and ready to start at 12pm sharp.
All players are expected to attend including new rookies who attended our trials in Reading & Bracknell at the end of last year.
The session will be ‘helmets only’. Palmer Park is a grass pitch, and it is expected to be cold, so please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
The next session is 17th January at the Farnham Knights home ground, Farnborough Rugby Club. This is part of the joint session both clubs attend under the NHBAFO (North Hampshire & Berkshire American Football Organisation) banner. Sessions will then alternate between Palmer Park and Farnborough on a weekly basis.
Berkshire Renegades General Manager Oliver Raffle has stepped down from the role with immediate effect.
Oliver, one of the founding members of the club, has helped guide the Renegades through five competitive seasons, with the team steadily improving both on the field and administratively in that time. More recently, he has been a proponent of sustainable growth of American Football in the Berkshire area and improvement across the board within the team.
Oliver says: ‘During my time as part of the management of the club, I believe I have always had the best interests of the Renegades at heart, and have done all I can to improve the fortune and future of the club. The decision to stand down was certainly not an easy one to make, but given recent personal events I feel it is in the best interests of both my health, and the health of football in the local area, that I step back from leadership of the club. I’m hoping the growth of the local football community will continue and that the sport can continue to stabilise and move forward for the benefit of the local area as whole.’
In the interim the remaining members of the Management Committee will continue to run the club, whilst the membership is consulted with regards to finding a suitable replacement.
The Berkshire Renegades would like to thank all the players, fans and sponsors for their support and hard work over the 2009 season.
It was a record breaking year for the organisation and we look forward to carrying on the success into 2010.
On behalf of the entire Renegades Organisation, we wish you and your families the very best Christmas and New Year.
The Berkshire Renegades are pleased to announce their second Rookie Day ahead of the 2010 season.
The Rookie Day is an opportunity for players with little or no experience to come and get a taste of American Football. Coaches from the Renegades will take you through a series of Football exercises before giving you the chance to try your hand at any of the varied positions on a Football team.

The Rookie Day is being held at Bracknell Leisure Centre, on Sunday, November 29th. The session will start promptly at 12.30pm and last for two hours. You should wear clothing appropriate for playing sport outdoors in winter. Please also bring footwear suitable for an astroturf surface and a bottle of water.
